The rather funky carving on the front this old toy box from Kerala would intrigue most children. The actual box is at the back of the carved panel and has a lift up lid, and the side uprights are configured as horses. Can also be used as a bench seat. Quite charming. It stands 680mm high x 920mm to the top of the horses’ ears.

Lively depictions of Ganesha, ‘The Remover of Obstacles’ the elephant headed god of wisdom who is invoked at the beginning of all undertakings, is depicted on these carved wooden doors. They have been assembled into a dining table, with a rebate for glassing in the top. Measures 1880mm x 950mm
